O’Neill Spearheads Bipartisan Coalition
Advocating Regional Commuter Rail

Local Leaders to Join Bill O’Neill in His Fight to Put Northeast Ohio First

Wickliffe, Ohio (Advisory for Friday, June 27) – Democratic congressional candidate Bill O’Neill, flanked by a bipartisan group of local elected officials, union leaders, and area businessman, will join forces at the abandoned rail station in Willoughby on June 27th to call on our leadership in Congress to “put Northeast Ohio first” by investing our federal dollars in a regional commuter rail system before high-speed rail to Cincinnati.

“I’ve met thousands of families on this campaign, and not a single one of them is looking for a better way to get to Cincinnati. What they’re looking for is how to get to work without spending a fortune,” O’Neill said. “Don’t get me wrong. High-speed rail to Cincinnati isn’t a terrible idea, but we have to focus on what is the cheaper, quicker and more efficient way to create jobs and strengthen the economy in Northeast Ohio. Commuter Rail is the answer.”
