O’Neill Sweeps County Democratic Party Endorsements

Summit County Dems – in unanimous vote – joins Lake, Geauga, Cuyahoga and Trumbull counties in backing former appellate judge

AKRON (January 30, 2008) – Democratic congressional candidate Bill O’Neill (OH-14) received the endorsement of the Summit County Democratic Party last night in a unanimous vote of precinct committeemen. This marks the fifth county party endorsement he has received, joining Democrats in Lake, Geauga, Trumbull and Cuyahoga counties; Portage and Ashtabula County Democrats will not issue endorsements in the race.

“We already know that Summit County will be a crucial battleground in this race, and it’s heartening to know that the party will be behind us 100 percent,” said Toby Fallsgraff, O’Neill’s campaign manager. “It’s clear that voters in Summit County and across this district are tired of what’s going on in Washington and are ready and motivated for a new approach. That’s what Bill brings to the table.”

O’Neill, a former judge on Ohio’s 11th District Court of Appeals, has earned every major Democratic endorsement in the primary thus far. Gov. Ted Strickland, Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher and Attorney Gen. Marc Dann endorsed the former judge last summer.
