LaTourette and Bush Unveil 'Stay-the-Course 2.0' Text

CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio - Democratic candidate for United States Congress Bill O'Neill, who earned a Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam and whose son served in Afghanistan and Iraq, reacted to President Bush's announcement today with Rep. Steve LaTourette of a 'post-surge vision' with the following statement:

"President Bush and Steve LaTourette got together in Parma today to put new labels on the same-old policies that have failed our troops in the past.

"They talk of 'eventually' drawing down troop levels, but have resisted any change of course. All we have seen is tours extended indefinitely and no plan to get our troops out of harm's way.

"What the president and Steve LaTourette are selling us today is nothing short of Stay-the-Course 2.0. Our troops have served their country bravely, and they deserve better than the same-old failed policies. It is time to bring them home with honor."
